  • Backpacking or bikepacking across the country, youll appreciate the truly heroic warmth to weight ratio of this bag. The Ultralite down bag keeps you safe down to temperatures of 20F and comfortable into the 40 and 50s with its breathable ripstop nylon shell. A coating of Durable Water Resistant (DWR) finish defends you from dew and splashes of coffee in the morning. This bag is pumped with 850 fill down, which has an excellent warmth to weight ratio. This means that you can sleep easy in the high altitude chill without taking up your whole pack or putting undue stress on your shoulders.
  • Features:
  • 6 ft long
  • Extremely lightweight, high thread count fabric weighs less than an ounce a yard! It does sacrifice a little bit of durability in the pursuit of such compressible quality, which means this bag is perfect for the trip where every ounce counts but it should not be thrown over a thorn bush while youre packing up your tent. In fact, its probably a bad idea to do that to any of your sleeping bags!
  • RLH refers to regular length, left hand zipper which is the preferred side for right handed campers
  • Interlocking draft tubes and a down-filled collar prevent energy-sucking drafts from zapping your slumber
  • Highly breathable, water resistant shell
  • Slightly narrower shoulder girth helps eliminate pockets of dead air for improved warmth retention
  • Full length #5 YKK Zipper
  • Rated to 20F/-7C: this is survival sleeping temperature, depending on your personal sleeping temperature, your comfortable temperature will be higher by 5-10 degrees
  • All Western Mountaineering bags use 850 fill power down, these feathers have the highest warmth to weight ratio and will retain more body heat with less bulk than lower fill power down
  • Made in America
  • Materials: Ripstop tafetta, #5 YKK Zipper
  • Insulation: 16 oz (450g) of down fill
  • Weight: 1 lb 13 oz (820g)
  • Length: 6 ft (180cm)

After a few nights of getting too cold on the Appalachian Trail I decided to purchase the W.M. Ultralite for the Pacific Crest Trail. I am beyond glad that I did because this bag is the bees knees! One of the coolest features about Western Mountaineering is that you can customize the Ultralite to be overfilled or have a Foot BoX overfill for a little extra charge if youre an especially cold sleeper like me. Down bags are also super compressible and at a mere 1 lb 13 ounces, this is the perfect bag for anyone trying to save some weight. I pair it with a linear to keep the bag clean and retain its full warmth capacity. This will be my sleeping bag for the next 40 years and Im proud to say its made right here in the good old USA!
