My son and I each used one on our backpacking trip to Yosemite. Its lightweight and compact. We did not use the pouch that came with it, so I can not speak to the use of that. Super easy to use....I just filled my bladder with stream water and connected the filter to my bladder and the other end to the hose. Yes, its that easy. Fill, connect and drink! Dont forget to back flush often, to maintain the integrity of the filter. The price is unbeatable and solid performance. Its part of my gear for every trip-day hikes and longer trips.
