This is my personal favorite rain jacket out of all of them that Alpine sells. Sure, you can get better, theres Goretex and even more breathable fabrics, but put all together, I like the fit, feel, and price of this jacket. This one isn't as swishy, crunchy material as some others. A rain jacket is supposed to not be super fitted, but not over sized either or it won't do it's job correctly. I'm between a small and a medium, but of course I'd choose the medium because it has great cinch cords. Both at each hip, and it has a fantastic cord system in the hood, which allows you to form the hood to your head so you can move without getting a face full of fabric, that's a big deal when on the trail. It has a couple other good features, but in all, its a well designed jacket for the price!

good raincoat, but not my favorite

I got this raincoat to wear on kayaking trips as well as everyday use. It was good at first but after a month or two the arms were no longer waterproof. Mind you this was after maybe 6 to 8 wears. Every time it rained more than just a sprinkle even if i was just walking from my car to the marina or to my house my forearms always ended up damp and the inside of the sleeves were also damp. My previous raincoat wasn't gortex and was a similar technology to this coats design so when i bought it i thought it would hold up just as well, but it did not. I ended up getting a better coat with GORTEX which did cost more but for how much I wear my raincoat now it was worth the investment. Even for everyday wear this would not be the first raincoat I recommend.
