The MSR WhisperLite stove is my go to camping, backpacking, anything outdoor stove. The stove itself is light weight, easy to pack away and maintenance free. The ability to use any fuel commercially available is a very great factor. No matter where you are in the world you can find fuel to cook with. The fuel canisters allow the user to create enough pressure inside the bottle sold separately when altitude changes. The price point is a little high compared to competitors, but it will be the last everything outdoor stove you will ever need.

I have used this cooker for a long time. One of its most redeeming qualities is its ability to fold up and be stowed. When you have a full pack and don't have a lot of room this is great. Good in many climates. starts up really quick and cooks fast.

The WhisperLite works well, boils large amounts of water, and has great support for larger pots. It is a heavier stove system so I would not recommend it for solo backpacking or even for a pair, but I comes in handy for groups of four or more. It is very easy to maintain, and cleaning is not often needed, but easy when it is! Plus the fuel is cheap!

This is probably the best backpacking/camping stove I have ever used. It is incredibly light and very easy to stow away. Besides its utility, the stove cooks food pretty well. Highly recommend.
