Finding a good water shoe for me is often difficult. I like my shoes to be supportive, light, durable, but also protective. This Newport shoe checks all the boxes. After years of use, they are still in good condition, even after being shoved into a hiking bag or into my checked luggage. I took these shoes to the Mississippi River, the boundary waters of Minnesota, the rapids of West Virginia, and they are still my go-to water shoe. My only complaint is that they sometimes become a trap for little rocks, but with the lace system, quickly removing the debris is quick and easy.
