I sometimes ride my bike in the winter, and anything below 50 degrees and youre in for possible wind burn from that cold, dry air. I wanted something really flexible, something I could pull up and down quickly. I used this gaiter on a ride while it was 29 degrees out and it really did the trick. It's soft and stretchy, so I could maneuver it easy. Anywhere from just my mouth, all the ways up over my nose and cheeks. It not only kept my breath warm, but did perfect from keeping that dry air off my cheeks. I like that it's a double ply layer too, so it is good and warm. It's also really breathable too, I hear some thicker fleece gaiters are hard to breathe through, and when you're doing a sport like cycling, that's important!
