Shipping & Delivery
Your online order will generally ship by the next business day after your order has been received. Online orders placed over the weekend may not ship until the following Monday, although we make every effort to ship your order within 24 hours of receiving it. National holidays are also days of rest for the shipping providers we use so be aware that although your order may be processed on that day, it will not start its journey until the next business day.
After placing your order you will receive a confirmation email that your order has been placed. If you would prefer a phone call, please make a note in the comments section of the checkout page (be sure to press the "Apply to Order" button). You will receive a second email when your order is ready to be shipped with relevant tracking information. If for any reason your online order is delayed, or unavailable, you will be notified by email as soon as possible. If an order needs to be cancelled, please contact us by email or phone.
Sales Tax and Payment Information
Alpine Shop is required to charge applicable state and local sales tax for online orders shipped to states where Alpine Shop stores have a physical presence (currently the states of Missouri and Illinois).
Credit cards are not charged until online orders are ready to be shipped. You may notice a pending charge of $1.01 on your credit card statement; this is a ghost charge confirming the pathway to your credit is open and will be discarded when your credit establishment processes those pending charges.
We ship only to U.S. addresses, and not to third party shippers, forwarding establishments, or package holders. We reserve the right to cancel any order whose credit card billing information cannot be verified. Only billing information with U.S. banks can be verified in our system, please use a U.S. based credit card when placing orders. To keep your order from appearing fraudulent, please use your actual phone, address, and email information. We have no desire to fill your inbox with spam or sell that information! However, orders without accurate information appear to be fraudulent and may be canceled if we cannot confirm it.
Shipping Rates & Timelines
Online orders of $75 and up receive FREE SHIPPING with USPS Priority to anywhere in the mainland U.S. (oversized items excluded). We beleive in the United States Postal Service and we find that they have come a long way in building a relaible and quick network. FedEx will still be availble to offer another level of service to those who prefer it.
The weight and size of each item determines the shipping price with FedEx. These rates are updated electronically and will be based on the specific items you have added to your cart. We add no surcharges to the shipping rates which are as true to FedEx as possible.
Please note additional charges may apply for deliveries to Hawaii, Alaska, and oversize items. Oversize items may include, but are not limited to: car racks, cargo boxes, skis, snowboards, and paddles. Oversize charges will not apply to the In-store Pick-Up option. Boats and bikes are excluded from shipping options but are available as a ship to store option.
Any order over $200 will require a signiture if it is sent via USPS (your free shipping option). If you know that you will not be at home to sign for the package please adjust your shipping address to your business address or that of a family member or trusted neighbor who will be available to sign for the package. We apologize for any inconvenience but that is the way the Post Office works!
Estimated arrival dates specified by FedEx or USPS are not guaranteed. Weather delays and other unforeseen circumstances may affect delivery time.
FREE In Store Pickup
Online orders are available for pickup at Kirkwood, Chesterfield, Columbia and O'Fallon (IL) Alpine Shop locations. Simply select your preferred store on the shipping options menu during checkout and you will be emailed a confirmation of the estimated time that your order will be ready for pick-up. Please allow 24 hours for your order to be processed and to receive your email regarding the estimated arrival date at the store location. In store pick up orders may take longer than other shipping options due to the transfer run schedule that changes seasonally.
At the time of pickup, you must provide a government issued ID matching the pickup name on the order. If you are unable to pick up your order it is recommended that you send your confirmation email to whomever you choose to pickup your order so that they can bring the confirmation email into the store with them. The person picking up the product will still need to show identification before they can leave with your order.
Fraud and Identity Theft
In our effort to protect as many people as possible from identity theft, we will take the time with every order to research the billing and shipping information (it's amazing what you can find online!). If there are any red flags, we will make an attempt to contact the customer to confirm that they placed the order. Please use your accurate information so that we can contact you for a confirmation or about any pertinant news about your purchase.
We will not ship any orders to third party shipping companies, or any other nefarious looking institution. We also will not ship orders that include re-routing information. Not going to do it, not for nobody, not no-how.
We strive to reduce our environmental impact in our internal processes as well as in our shipping methods. Reused shipping materials may include, but are not limited to: recycling boxes previously shipped to us, reusing packaging material, etc. If you would prefer to opt out of our recycling attempts regarding shipping, please write a note in the comment box during the checkout process indicating that you would like new materials only. Thank you for understanding our intent to reduce materials and impact on the environment.
