About the Alpine Shop
Alpine Shop began life in 1973, as a small climbing shop. Today, in addition to climbers, we serve almost every type of outdoor enthusiast from backpackers, hikers, campers, paddlers, and cyclists, to snowboarders and skiers.

In December of 2002, we moved our flagship store into its current location in Kirkwood, Missouri, at 440 N. Kirkwood Road (Lindbergh Blvd.) just four blocks North of the Kirkwood Train Station. At our new location, we have increased our retail area by nearly 40 percent allowing us to offer you more gear for the activities you love while making everything easier to find.

We have been very fortunate the last few years, enabling us to expand the reach of our great products and services outside of the immediate St. Louis area. In 1998, we opened a second store to serve our customers in the Chesterfield, Missouri area. In 2000 we also added a third store in downtown Columbia, Missouri.

Both stores, though smaller in size, are just as dedicated to the same quality products and, more importantly, the same quality service our customers have come to expect in our 30 years of existence. We hope that the next time that you are near one of our three locations you will stop in and let us show you why we are one of the midwest's premiere outdoor retailers.
