Operation Clean Stream

The 41st annual Operation Clean Stream is traditionally on the fourth saturday in August, the 23rd this year. People will participate in America's longest and largest organized trash collection effort on the Meramac, Bourbeuse, Big Rivers and Huzzah and Courtois creeks.

We have information in our Kirkwood store for customers who want to volunteer. They can also go to www.openspacestl.org or call 636-334-3035 for information.

Activities and picnics are staged in 10 parks along the Meramec, Big and Bourbeuse Rivers.

On Sunday, August 24th the Alpine Shop stream team will clean up our usual stretch of the Meramac River from Onandaga to Cambell Bridge, to allow more of our employees participate than we could on a Saturday. We will carpool from the Kirkwood Alpine Shop at 8am and meet at Ozark Outdoors near Leasburg by 9am. Ozark Outdoors will provide us with breakfast, canoes, return shuttle, and lunch in appreciation for our efforts. Showers available for small charge. Wear river clothes and footwear and bring drinks, sunscreen and anything you will need on the river. A towel and change of clothes is recommended for the ride home.

If you're interested in joining the Alpine Shop Stream Team, please R.S.V.P. by clicking here or by calling Ken Stanhope at (314) 962-7715.
